MHS Students Donate to Food Bank
The Bullpup Pals from McPherson High School recently purchased food from Dillon's to donate to the McPherson County Food Bank. Students were learning about Citizenship by helping the less fortunate during the holiday season.

Forming Friendships
On Friday, May 4th approximately 100 students from McPherson County and their Bullpup Pals from McPherson High school enjoyed a wonderful picnic together. Participants enjoyed eating hamburgers and hotdogs while dancing to a variety of music. It's wonderful to see true friendships forming in our community. The citizenship demonstrated at this annual event is a perfect fit with McPherson's C3 initiative.

Learning to Fly
A few McPherson High School students took a field trip to learn more about aviation. A part of the C3 initiative is identifying students' passions, and then advising them in the necessary preparation to pursue their goals. Experiences like this one help students decide if their passions could turn into a career. |
Helping the Homeless
Mr. Jirgens took his AP Human Geography class to Wichita to volunteer at the Lord’s Diner. There, students served the homeless guests by busing tables, serving drinks, cleaning floors, and visiting. The class is beginning a unit on economic development, and Mr. Jirgens wanted his students to be exposed to poverty as well as serve others (part of theCitizenship, College, and Career Readiness initiative). Students who participated felt it was a rewarding experience.
